Goose Lake Kennels

This is Jeff King's kennel in Denalli We had booked this tour well in advance. During which time he won the Iditirod. Leaned alot about the race and these amazing animals.

  • Goose Lake: Future Champs
    Future champions only 5 weeks old here
  • Goose Lake: Practice
    The dogs run in front of any ATV for practice their only going about a mile here just a warm up. All of the dogs go crazy when the ATV shows up they all want to run.
  • Goose Lake: Kennels
    The Kennels are designed so the dogs can run all the way around and get on top. They can be raised or lowered according to snow levels.
  • Goose Lake: Resting
    The dogs seem to find the kennels comfortable
  • Goose Lake: A Leader
    This sweet girl here was one of the two lead dogs that won the Iditirod.
  • Goose Lake: Practice group returns
    All the dogs go crazy as the practice group return.
  • Goose Lake: Merry Go Round
    The dogs get hooked up to the carousel for exercise. They would run until they drop, so truck air brakes are installed. If you look close there is one dog riding, this is what retired sled dogs do.
